Bradshawgate, Bolton.

Rather than store theses images on a hard drive i have posted them onto the internet for others to view. Some of the images have been acquired from the internet and as far as i am aware are not subject to copyright. Many of the images are in poor condition so i have enhanced and restored them.

BRADSHAWGATE, BOLTON

This image was taken in 1887 showing the street decked out in patriotic flags and is likely to be around  the 21st of June when Britain celebrated the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. In the distance is what is now 'Prestons of Bolton' jewellers. Below is the same image which i have edited in photoshop with a sepia tone and some 'cropping'.

Below is the same view over a hundred years later where the road appears to be wider.

Below is a view from the opposite side of the road taken in the mid 1990's showing Corks Wine Bar

Below is present day Bradshawgate taken on St George's Day 2013

Below is another old Image showing Wood Street at its junction with Bradshawgate in the 1890's..

Below is a enhanced and tinted copy of the same image...
